Help Shepherd's Heart in their mission to the city!

There is a real opportunity for you and/or your church to offer missionary outreach to the poor and the addicted, the homeless and the marginalized right here in Pittsburgh.

here are the areas in which you can minister:

Physical Donations

items we are always in need of:

  • Non-perishable food items for the food pantry

  • Breakfast food for mornings in our homeless Drop-In Center

  • Blankets and coats

  • Socks, hats, and mittens

  • Travel-size shampoos, deodorants, soaps, shaving cream, disposable razors, combs

If you have other donation items, please call us at 412-281-1305 before arriving to see if we are in need of your particular donation.

Hands-on Ministry:

Sunday Worship Service and Meal

Groups that volunteer on Sunday evenings provide and serve the evening meal for the Shepherd's Heart congregation, about 175-225 people. Those in your group who are not preparing the meal will be able to sit in the service and worship with the poor and the homeless.

Please contact the church office at 412-281-1305 or by email to reserve a date for your church/group to volunteer.

Drop-In Center

Volunteers assist the staff with whatever the needs are on a given day. Volunteers may help by serving breakfast and coffee, by providing towels and toiletries for those needing showers, or by helping with laundry. We also provide a service of morning prayer with a teaching from scripture every morning in the drop-in center.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the church office at 412-281-1305 or by email.
